Southpaw

As if we didn't have enough health-related excitement this year, Pants broke her arm on National Night Out after a beautifully failed dismount off the monkey bars. So that makes the trifecta, the hat-trick...
-Stiches? Check
-Hospital stay? Check
-Broken bones? Check

I'm going to put her in a bubble.

But she's taking it like a champ. It hurt, clearly, but after a few days in the splint, she is in a pretty sky-blue cast -waterproof I might add- and much happier. She even went to her last week of Farm Camp. So, we should have it off in time for school, but unfortunately not in time for her annual "by myself" trip to Memaw,s house.

Her Farm Camp days have also come to an end. This was bitter sweet for the both of us. For the past three summers Pants has kicked it at Children's Country Day School. A lovely little hobby farm / preschool overlooking the Mississippi. They have ponies (Ginger, May and April) , llamas (Leo and ... oh, I forget the llama mama's name), chickens, ducks, reptiles (Fluffy, her classroom corn snake) and rodentia (Orville & Wilbur the guinea pigs of last year's classroom), not to mention a swimming pool, butterfly garden and vegetable garden. With a full time nature teacher, Pants came home with loads of fun facts and a green thumb. I'm going to have to put in a garden next spring. Dad? Help!
So it's officially the dog-days of summer. No camp. No plans. Vacation to Memaw's isn't for another 10 days. Busted paw. Weather is already cooling off and we are officially at a loss for things to do. Anyone?
